Warm Thoughts
Dear fellow rescuers;
Sometimes, being in rescue, it seems the weight of the world is
on your shoulders. Your arms just aren't big enough to grab all those who are
hurting and your heart just isn't big enough to hold all the love
We only see the shelters, euthanasia, abuse, neglect and starvation. There
is some good in the world because of YOU! Let's take a
minute and ponder on them. You'll feel better.
 |
Puppies were born, and they are soft, cuddly, and have owners
waiting for them when they are weaned.. They will go to wonderful homes
because YOU rescued their momma.

A little boy plays ball in the backyard with his best buddy.
His buddy rolls on his back in the grass, to scratch the "itchies" and snorts.
He gets up and runs after the ball. He's the happiest thing on four legs.

 |
It's a bitter cold winter night, the wind howls outside, but
in the corner of the room is a pooch that is sound asleep on a big, warm,
fluffy bed. No fears, no worries where the food is coming from, he sleeps
softly with his special blankie, and dreams. No more nightmares.
|
 |
A big bowl of food is waiting for the starved dog you rescued.
And she is surrounded by those who love her.

 |
The puppy with the broken leg is now running along side his
four-legged friend with a two-legged human sister trailing behind them. No more
being thrown from vehicles. He only takes rides in them now and lets the
wind blow on his face and smells all the new smells. He's part of a
family.

The old girl that you rescued, the one that had cancer... she
is lying quietly with her new owner, snuggled on the bed next to him. They are
sharing their last days together. Because of you, she will die a peaceful
death. Warm, safe and loved.
|
 |
Right now, the dirty little dog covered with mange,
mites and fleas that you rescued is getting her back scratched in a tub
full of bubbles. She shakes and gives her new parent a bath also.
Because of you, she is now clean, her coat shines and she is happy... she
belongs to someone.

 |
That bouncy, wide open, flying torpedo on four legs , full-of-energy
dog that you rescued, and you thought there was no hope for... He now has 2
acres to run and catch imaginary squirrels, chase those airplanes that invade his yard, and zip up and down the fenceline,
proudly protecting his family from other invading cats, dogs and bugs.
Because of your patience and dedication... he's happy and sleeps well at night
because he gets all his energy out during the day! |
On behalf of all those rescued dogs, I proudly say THANK YOU for
your dedication, your patience, and most of all your love.
Many lives have been changed because of you. Keep up the good work.
